Bernhard Sachs: After History.

15th Feb - 18 May 2025 Linden Gallery, 26 Acland St., St Kilda, Vic.

CURRENTLY:
I have been invited to exhibit in this retrospective of the work of the late Bernhard Sachs of whom I  was a friend, colleague  and an appreciative student at the VCA. See my adjacent contribution.
"What's going on here then?" was a common expression of Bernhard's when a student's work was exhibited in class. The ensuring silence sometimes stretched  interminably before someone ventured a response. It certainly made one think!

2024/25 Bill's work 'The Tide has Turned' with an embedded ekphrasis, was listed as a finalist in the $50,000 biennial Len Fox Painting Award 2024. Now on exhibition until 2 March 2025 at the Castlemaine Art Museum, Victoria.

In September 24, Bill was interviewed for 94.9 Main FM by writer and poet Bonny Cassidy re his exploratory practice. Listen here: https://www.mixcloud.com/MainFm/makebelieve-13-interview-with-bill-sampson/
And in October 24 , Bill won the coveted cup (an egg-cup) for two of his verses exhibited in 'What is This', read at the local poetry gathering 'Poeticas' 🤣
